Kimono creating Atelier in Kyoto- Shi-kunshi koubou-②

(The story continues...)

"Sacred bamboo" is vividly described on this kimono.
"Realistic depiction" is one of the characteristics of Japanese design.
I love this design and base purple color.
It is gorgeous...
"Night snow" is the motif of this kimono.
Of course you can order your original kimono if you visit here,
the price is less expensive than department store, they said.
Sometimes young girl's mother or father visit here to buy kimono for their daughter, for preparation of their daughter's marriage, they said.

Gentians and narcissus flowers.
They are real and vividly described.
Lovely kitten and orchid flowers.
I think this is peony. It is beautiful.
There are many variations of colors and designs here.
I found a wonderful picture.
Varieties of flowers are described vividely.
Japanese artists pursue "realism" fully. That is the essence of Japanese arts.

How to access
This Atelier is located in Kamigyo Ward,(Kamigyo-ku),Kyoto, near "Imadegawa-Jofukuji" bus stop.(5 minutes walk)
"Shi-kunshi koubou" is the name of the Atelier.

Kimono creating Atelier in Kyoto - Shi-kunshi Koubou ①

I found an interesting Kimono Atelier in Kyoto.
"Shi-kunshi Koubou"(四君子 工房) is the name of this Atelier.
It means "Four wise man's atelier". There are 4 artisans here.
In this Atelier, people are creating Maiko kimono and private customer's kimono.
Let's go.
The inside of the Atelier.
It is very high-ceilinged and large room,
and there were many kimono exhibits.
I found an kimono artisan working.
His name is Tsuge Ittou.
His art works have won so many prize!
He has been working as kimono artisan since 1974!
He is a skillful, experienced kimono artisan.
It describes the scenery along the river.
He is going to dye this white cloth from now.
He uses so many painting tools!
As you see, there were so many beautiful clothes exbits here.
According to him, they are samples of Maiko's kimono.
So many designs! Which design to choose...
Fortunately,photos are permitted here,
so please enjoy these beautiful Maiko kimono designs below ^ ^

To be continued....
Because there are many other interesting arts here!

Maiko and Kyoto Museum of Traditional Craft

Hello,I hope you're having a wonderful day^ ^

Today I visited "Kyoto Museum of Traditional Craft" in Kyoto.
On every Sunday,we can see maiko's dance and crafts artizan's demonstration.
During maiko's dance,photos are not permitted,it's a pity,
but after dance, she had a look around this museum,
so fortunately I could take a photo of her.
Let us check her fashion.
Today's her fashion is based around the color bright green and red.
Maiko is very season-conscious,
"Bright green" is considered to be the most suitable color in this May season.

And please look at her kanzashi(ornamental hairpin),it is wisteria.
In May,maiko wear this wisteria kanzashi.
Because May is the season of blooming wisteria.

And this big obi is interesting.
Maiko wears this big obi.(Geiko doesn't wear this big obi.)
This is a design of river streams,
the color contrast of white and red is interesting.

She seems enjoying walking around the museum.
I found lacquer ware artizan.

This lacquer ware box is made by him.
As you see,it is really shiny, lustrous,
it is beautiful.
He said that it took him 6 month to make this box.
It costs around hundreds of thousands yen.
This dragonfly is realistic.
Its wings are made of mother-of pearl,he said.
And these flowers are Houttuynia (kind of herb),he said.
Gold powder is sprinkled, this technique is called "Makie".
"Be realistic" is one of the characteristics of Japanese traditional design.

This museum is located near Heian Jingu shrine.Sunday afternoon is good for visiting,

Thank you for visiting my blog,I'm happy if you enjoy it.
please have a wonderful day!

World Foods Exhibition 2013 in Osaka, South Port

Today I went to "World Foods Exhibition 2013" in Osaka with my husband.
We can enjoy varieties of World Foods here today.
(Foods from central and eastern Europe,Asia.)
It's so exciting!

So many people!
Today is lucky day for us,because we can enjoy rare foods from lots of different countries^ ^
The air in this room was thick with the enthusiasm of the participants.
We Japanese are all gluttonous!

This is Romanian foods booth. Let's go.

I wanted to eat this "Mititei", (I think it's meat dish,) but unfortunately it has already sold out.
This is never enough to be regretted.
Instead,I bought Romanian beer "URSUS" for souvenir.
I want to try it later. ^ ^
This man is cooking seafood paella. I want to try it.
Wow!
This is just what I want to eat!

This is Belgian food booth.
We can enjoy Belgian beer here. Let's try it.
She served me a delicious looking beer with lovely smile ^ ^
Wow,what a spread!
These are British dishes.
Curried Tuna hamburgers,sausages,and mashed potatoes.
We are going to eat them with chopsticks.  (This is Japanese style.)

And Belgian beer! I love it.
It has a gentler fragrance and deeper flavor, compared to Japanese beer.

Here's to your health!

Thanks for always visiting and reading my blog.

A Coming-of-Age Day 2013

Today is "Seijin-Shiki" throughout Japan,as you know.
This is the scene of the ceremony (feast) of coming-of age celebration.
These new adults are opening sake barrels by breaking lids with wooden hammers.
This is called "Kagami-nuki".
In this year,1,220,000 people became new adults in Japan.
I wish you all happiness!
